Coordinated from Brussels by Ancienne Belgique, the Liveurope initiative encourages concert venues to book more up-and-coming European talent. Supported by the European Union since 2014, this project aims to tear down cultural borders and bring audiences closer.
Jonathan Hill, Head Speechwriter for Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission, will open the event.
Then Puggy, the 'most European of Belgian rock bands', will give an exclusive live interview at the AB Club. The band members will talk about their European roots and their experience with performing across Belgian borders. The talk will be followed by an exclusive acoustic live set.
Then it will be time for three young European bands to showcase their talent on the AB Club stage. Last Train (France), Memória de Peixe (Portugal) et Indian Askin (Netherlands ) will each perform a set to offer the audience a taste of the quality and the diversity of the European repertoire.
The concerts will be free of charge.
Similar mini-festivals will take place the same week in other concert venues of the Liveurope network, including in Germany, Portugal and Denmark.
