De werkgroep 'Audiences Participation' van het Access to Culture-platform organiseert op 15 december in Brussel een workshop rond het thema "Access to Culture in the digital era: A citizen's right - From Potential, to Practice, to Policies".
Praktisch
15 December, 16h-20h in het European House for Culture @ Flagey (Flageyplein 18, Elsene)
Deelname kan nog steeds worden bevestigd via info@houseforculture.eu
The workshop will be kicked off by Mirko Tobias Schäfer, Assistant Professor at the University of Utrecht. It continues with presentations of best practices of festivals, orchestras, museums, opera and artists’ projects under the guiding questions: how do digital tools transform the cultural sector in the fields of creation, education and communication? What are the trends, challenges and opportunities? What responsibilities for policy makers?
The workshop will analyse whether the sector is making the most of the opportunities the digital era brings about. It will also critically reflect on policies which are at the basis of the sector triggering and hindering audiences’ access to culture in the digital era: From Potential, to Practice to Policies! Have a look at the full programme (pdf). A reception will provide the framework to exchange with colleagues over a glass of wine.
This workshop is mainly addressed at cultural players, but also at policy makers. It will present a growing compendium of best practices and define the basis for a set of recommendations addressed at European and national decision makers – in the frame of Europe’s 2020 Agenda, the European Agenda for Culture and the OMC working groups, as well as the Creative Europe Programme. Consult our draft background paper (pdf) for more details.
