"This is a trio of diatonic accordeon, hurdy gurdy and bagpipes and they get the best out of the tunes. It seems that the recording techniques used have done something to reduce the presence of the bagpipe drones and the rasping buzz of the hurdy gurdy and brings out the melody which seems to work well. As with so many dance bands, a lot of their tunes sets have some sort of uplifting 'kick' either at the change of a tune or the introduction of a different instrument. This works well in gving the dancers a lift halfway through a set, but it also adds interest when just listening to the CD."
