"The isolation Lieven Martens invokes [..] is entirely benign, a contemplative state that suggests more than anything else a kind of resigned ennui. His music is too delicate and pastel-shaded to represent either the ecstatic transcendence or retreat into memory that the work of his Nu-New Age peers (Oneohtrix, Emeralds et al) is often said to embody. You don't get lost on these oceans - each of the six tracks is curiously static, a short looped snapshot of quietude. Sea recordings (subtly processed and augmented by discreet electronics) underpin gentle, ebbing pentatonic keyboard figures, and that's about it. But it's in this apparent sterility that fascination lies; it's an odd listen, and that's good."

"Na tal van tape releases, en na jarenlang zelf puik spul van ondermeer Ignatz, Nonhorse en James Ferraro op de markt te gooien, wordt Dolphins Into The Future eindelijk op vinyl geperst. ‘… On Sea-Faring Isolation’ is een trip van veertig minuten door het buitenwereldse labyrinth onder het schedeldak van Lieven Martens – een psychedelische meditatie met tape loops, synths en gevonden materiaal. Elke kant bevat drie samenhangende stukken die kolken en borrelen tot tegen de sterren, en die samen een geheel vormen waarvan de structuur uiteindelijk verglijdt tot een experimentele droom. Typisch Dolphins, geen doelloze navelstaarderij, wel een complex en grappig spel met de luisteraar. De primitieve trance van ‘Lone Voyager’ of de zelfbewuste kitsch van ‘Memory Of Self’ zijn moeilijk met iets te vergelijken, al kan Klaus Schulze in de vleesmolen met Aaron Dilloway eventueel in de buurt komen. Kraak zou een winterrelease plannen, wij kunnen deze '...On Sea-Faring Isolation' alvast niet genoeg aanraden. Oorsplijtend!"
